EMDR through the Anti-Oppression Lens with Jasmine Adams, LCSW, PMH-C

October 26-27, 2025 (9:00am-4:30pm PT daily)

This course is designed for clinicians committed to anti-oppressive and decolonizing practices, offering a transformative approach to EMDR’s 8-phase standard protocol. Together, we will critically examine how systemic oppression and historical trauma shape therapy participants’ experiences, identities, and healing journeys. Through collaborative learning, we will explore ways to adapt EMDR to honor the wisdom, resilience, and lived realities of those intentionally marginalized by oppressive systems. Each phase will be examined through a liberatory lens, integrating ancestral and culturally grounded healing practices. This interactive training will include small group practicums, large group discussions, and expressive arts-based reflection to deepen learning and embodiment of decolonized therapeutic approaches.

Items to have accessible to you during training:

  • 2 items of support that can help soothe your system if needed
  • Expressive arts material to make your own during training ie: coloring materials, collage materials, instruments, etc.

We are capping this program at 20 so we can focus on individual attention.
