EMDR through the Anti-Oppression Lens with Jasmine Adams, LCSW, PMH-C

May 7-8, 2026

 (9:00am-4:30pm PT daily)

This course is designed for clinicians committed to anti-oppressive and decolonizing practices, offering a transformative approach to EMDR’s 8-phase standard protocol. Together, we will critically examine how systemic oppression and historical trauma shape therapy participants’ experiences, identities, and healing journeys. Through collaborative learning, we will explore ways to adapt EMDR to honor the wisdom, resilience, and lived realities of those intentionally marginalized by oppressive systems. Each phase will be examined through a liberatory lens, integrating ancestral and culturally grounded healing practices. This interactive training will include small group practicums, large group discussions, and expressive arts-based reflection to deepen learning and embodiment of decolonized therapeutic approaches.

Items to have accessible to you during training:

  • 2 items of support that can help soothe your system if needed
  • Expressive arts material to make your own during training ie: coloring materials, collage materials, instruments, etc.

We are capping this program at 20 so we can focus on individual attention.

A General Note About Approvals

Many state boards accept out-of-state providers, which is why our Ohio approvals appear on every training. In some states, pre- or post-program approval forms must be sent, and you are responsible for checking into the rules of the licensure board in your state as to what is required. Please let the Institute for Creative Mindfulness know if you need support documentation in any way for these pre or post-program approval applications.

Important Note About Approvals

As of February 1, 2026 The Institute for Creative Mindfulness is no longer a Continuing Education Approved Sponsor with the American Psychological Association (APA). For ICM-run EMDR Therapy trainings with Dr. Jamie Marich, Jasmine Adams, or Lisa Hayes, we are able to provide you with a State of New York Continuing Education Certificate for psychologists which can be used in most states. Please respond to this email to let us know if you are a psychologist or otherwise licensed in New York as you will also be getting a special certificate as a New York licensee regardless of the license. We are still clear to offer ASWB, NBCC, and State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and MFT Board credits for this course. You are responsible for checking into what credits are accepted by the state of your practice and what additional paperwork you might need to do in order to get credits for this course.

If you were relying on APA credits specifically for this course, you can request a refund, and we can put you in touch with another ICM EMDR Therapy faculty member who is still offering APA credits.
